I am a graphic designer based out of Boston with 16 years experience. My goal is to work with a web development team to create state-of-the-art user interfaces. I am confident that I would be an asset to any team, in any role. I am adaptable, flexible, loyal and personable. I am very technically oriented, my designs follow a grid while focusing on mood and legibility. I am a highly motivated self-starter. I work best when there is a creative challenge to solve. I love to learn, grow and create beautiful, legible, compelling designs and applications.
I began my career in NYC as a graphic designer production artist at Estée Lauder. At Estée Lauder I learned the importance of an elegant typeface, designs with a consistent brand "look," how to design beautiful work and to execute the most technical printed pieces.
Through contacts at Estée Lauder, I moved to their newly acquired brand, Aveda. Applying principles I had learned at Estée Lauder we created "Aveda Mission" driven art. We used models who exuded natural beauty. We included nature in every piece, whether it was the signature comfrey flower or a section of landscape. Our printed pieces often used soy-based inks and post-consumer recycled content. We were the pioneers of "green."
Since 2003 I have been re-tuning my skills to web design and development. My husband, Ishay Grinberg and I launched Rental Beast, a rental listing database application, in Boston. For our first website I designed Photoshop slices. For the first re-design in 2007 I created a table based layout. For the second re-design in 2009 I used Javascript, PHP, MYSQL, XHTML and AJAX. And this is where I found my true calling. I love website development. I can fuse my technical abilities and inclinations with my instinct for clean, legible, beautiful design. Rental Beast has been transformed from a store-front based sales operation to the premier, scalable, rental source and e-commerce application in Massachusetts. I have extensive knowledge and experience in social marketing and viral marketing techniques, SEO and SEM optimization.
